Reading and writing and stuff

I finally finished the horror novel that I really wanted to be done with. Yay! So I'm sort of reading Anna Karenina, but I decided to put that on hold again to read something a little fluffier, because don't get me wrong -- Tolstoy is plenty fun, but after trudging through the last two novels I read, I just needed something fun. So I'm reading the Torchwood novel Almost Perfect. I actually like it so far, though admittedly I'm only about. . . 1/5 into it. So I'm trying to withhold judgment.

I haven't gotten nearly as much writing done as I'd planned to by now, but I'm finishing up the prison AU sequel (right now it's like, 80% dialogue, so I need to flesh it out a bit) and am tentatively working on another Jack/Ianto D/s story. And I've got my lgbtfest fic to finish by the 5th. Eeek! Still have a lot to do for that.

I'm also working on the vampire road trip novel of doom. It's actually fun to be working on it again.

I'm pretty much completely failing at writing at the moment and can't really muster much surprise. I have scenes I want to write, but sticking them together is a pain. I also want to write porn, something fresh, but I don't know what. Need to think of something new.

My problem is that I 1) write really slowly and 2) have really, really terrible focus and attention span ('Okay, I'm going to finish this scene now. Oh, wait, I need to check my e-mail. Back to writing. Oh, I want to play Tetris.')

I have ideas, but they're just not getting done very quick. And in the past week or so, I've seen like three fics that are more or less doing what I would have been original in doing had I finished mine, so now I need to make sure that my ideas are different enough, and it's a pain.
