White Collar episode 4x04
Jul. 31st, 2012 11:13 pmLiked this week's episode okay. I don't think it'll become one of my favorites, but it had its good moments. And it was a nice birthday treat to have a new episode.
My thoughts:
- Little detail: I like how Neal nods and says "It's true" when Mozzie is talking about his bonsai gardening skills. What intimate knowledge of Mozzie's gardening abilities do you have, Neal?
- And it seems to say a lot that he introduces Mozzie to Ellen at all. Ellen represents his past, and I think Neal has spent a long time trying to escape his past.
- I guess between last episode and this one, Neal has become more of a fixture around the evidence warehouse. Boss only puts up token resistance to him coming by, now. It's sweet how he brings Peter lunch.
- Speaking of the boss at the evidence warehouse, all I can think when I see him is that he's probably spent way too long in that division. It's like the monotony has gotten to him and he takes it out on others.
- I love it when Neal snarks about how the FBI treats him. I do have sympathy for Neal -- he could be earning a decent paycheck with the work he does. But I have a little less sympathy considering he has a priceless treasure hidden away somewhere.
- Yay! Sara! I love Sara.
- Now Peter gets to be a consultant. These past two episodes have really knocked Peter down. Now he's almost in Neal's position, give or take. I love Neal asking him if he has a radius now. Snarky Neal is my favorite Neal.
- Peter's improvised aliases leave something to be desired.
- It's neat to see Ellen and Mozzie interact, and find out a little more about Neal's childhood.
- I like the PI. A lot of times, I don't care a whole lot about the "case-of-the-week" characters who show up, but that guy is all right.
- And Mozzie makes a pretty good PI, himself.
- I like it when Neal cooks. He looks good doing it.
- I'm actually surprised the bad guy stood by the deal and just let Neal go at the end. Usually, in stories like this, the bad guy goes against the deal and tries to kill the person, anyway. Making the deal with Neal and then honoring it was surprisingly...honest and sane.
- At the end, the PI guy looks so nonchalant about the dude coming by to kill him. I guess he really is used to danger.
- Yay! Peter's been reinstated. It was surprisingly anticlimactic, too. Nothing in the episode led me to suspect that was going to happen this week.
- I love that they all go to Neal's place to celebrate.
- I wonder if we'll ever learn anything about Sara's sister. It's been brought up a couple times, now....
- I knew something was going to happen to Ellen. I knew it.
- We have to wait two weeks for the next episode?!
