White Collar 4x15
Feb. 26th, 2013 11:33 pmI enjoyed this episode a lot! And it's nice because even though I've been busy as hell this week, I had some time to enjoy the episode and have time to post about it before it fades from my memory too much, which is always nice.
- I love Mozzie's ice cream stand! And him driving up prices to keep tourists away. This has been a good season for getting glimpses at Mozzie's businesses.
- And LOL at how Peter doesn't pay for the ice cream.
- I'm pleasantly surprised that Peter cleared the air so early. I was worried we were going to have a whole episode of Peter knowing that Neal lied on Elizabeth's orders, but still watching Neal's efforts from afar. I'm glad they're pooling their resources.
- Diana does not look impressed with Callaway. I have to put some trust in Diana's judgment--she's usually right.
- Love how Neal comes in to solve one forgery and discovers another one instead.
- Also, love Peter's impatience when Neal starts talking about chicken sexers. :P
- The timing of James's return is highly suspicious. Oh, he just happens to get cabin fever after Neal mentions he's working with Peter? I get the feeling James is trying to con Neal, and feels threatened by Peter because he knows Peter is more objective and has more resources to find out the truth.
- That said, I'm not as annoyed by James's return as I thought I might be.
- Maybe it's just me, but the guy playing Bellmiere kind of looks like Mark Zuckerberg (also, Chrome believes "Zuckerberg" should be "Beiderbecke." WTF?)
- Bellmiere seems to have some serious anger issues and bitterness after working with Dubois....
- I'd really like to know how they got that huge block of marble into Neal's apartment....Maybe June has a service elevator?
- I've gotta admit, as suspicious as I am of James, it is sweet how impressed he is with Neal's artwork. James is right, too--we should see more of Neal's original work.
- And I love how proud Neal looks when the art expert calls his forgery "the Dubois."
- I love Neal's mischievous smile when he pretends to agree with Peter about not using the scanner to find the box. Neal, you're not fooling him.
- Poor Peter...he's smart enough to realize that Neal won't outright lie to him, but will twist the truth so it's not technically a lie. And he tries so hard to cover his bases. But leave it to Neal to figure out a way to use the scanner, anyway.
- That guy in the Empire State Building doesn't look too impressed by Mozzie's ice cream business. Probably not what they were thinking of renting the space for. :P Of course, with Mozzie's prices, he might be able afford to open up an ice cream shop on the 50th floor of the Empire State Building.
- I do have to hand it to Callaway--she's not stupid.
- James lies to that floor-cleaning guy very easily. At this point, just about everything he does increases my suspicions of him, even if it's a stretch.
- Neal's lucky he has a decent excuse for how that scanner might have been damaged. Can't imagine Peter's too happy about the idea of expensive Bureau property getting banged up in a con.
- I've gotta admit, I loved Neal saying that Peter's been a father to him.
- I had no idea what to think of Callaway in this episode, and to be honest, I still have no idea. I don't know if the character/actress is supposed to stay on after this season or not, so I'm not sure how we're supposed to read her. I was almost surprised when it turns out she is working with Pratt, because that seemed a little too easy, though I guess maybe I shouldn't be. The question is, is she a villain? Or is she more like Fowler, mixed up in something she doesn't quite understand? Or this could all be a red herring, though I'm not sure the show would go in this direction. It'll be interesting to see if she actually sticks around, and, if so, if she'll be an antagonist or not.
- The preview is totally justifying my suspicions of James. Though, previews can be deceiving, so maybe I'm off-base.
