Finally put my finger on it...
Jun. 28th, 2010 06:48 pmThe Eleventh Doctor reminds of a children's book character. Finally, I made a connection.
He reminds me of the Cat in the Hat. It's not really a scholarly connection. More of an emotional one. He just...reminds me of him. The whole thing where he shows up at a child's house and acts silly, his general demeanor, his big pile of household items in "The Lodger," his quiet sadness when things don't turn out well for him.
Now I wish I still had that book. It was one of my favorites when I was really young.

Date: 2010-06-29 01:11 am (UTC)Though I didn't like everything, nor all the episodes, I have completely fallen like smitten kitten for him as our Doctor. I also am ecstatic about his companion situation. Different and awesome, and I look forward to the next series, really do. :)

Date: 2010-06-29 02:42 am (UTC)I know it is wet and the sun is not sunny, but we can have lots of good fun that is funny.
I know some good games we can play, said the cat, I know some new tricks, said the cat in the hat.
A lot of good tricks, I will show them to you. Your mother will not mind at all if I do.
All that from memory. I have read this numerous times :)
