So, I saw an article saying that the 50 Shades of Grey movie has finally be cast, and Matt Bomer is not playing Christian Grey. Thank goodness. Maybe now people will let it go and stop tagging pics of Bomer with "Christian Grey" on Tumblr.

I still don't get why the speculation about Matt being in the movie was so strong. I mean, I know there was a little bit of "official" buzz about him being considered, but I never heard anything all that conclusive. If I remember right, Brett Easton Ellis wanted him for the role before he got turned down for writing the script. Then he did his ridiculous 180 where he ranted about Matt being "too gay" for the role. Why did so many people latch onto the idea of Matt being in the movie?

I'm just glad it's over now.

Still no interest in seeing this film, but I'm glad Matt Bomer's not in it. Never such a thing as too gay, but I can't imagine Bomer with quite the controlling, assholish edge Grey has in the book canon, and I can be selfishly disappointed when actors I enjoyed watching take on roles in projects I wish weren't being made.
