Icon withdrawal
Nov. 2nd, 2013 11:42 pmI decided to let my LJ paid account expire, mainly because I'm not extremely satisfied with LJ and didn't care to have the expense. But now I'm sad to lose most of my icon slots. Narrowing it down to 15 was ridiculously hard.
It's silly, because I don't actually use many icons. The number of icons I actively use could easily fit in 15 slots. But I like collecting icons, and they're like a neat history of my fandoms and icon taste.
I'm tempted to buy the icon add-on. It's not all that expensive, so I might. But I'm going to give it a week or so and see how I manage with 15.

Date: 2013-11-03 05:46 pm (UTC)It's just that having the icons on my profile was sort of like a history of my fandom activities, and I hate it when old posts are stripped of their icons because the icon was taken down. I'm just weird like that.

Date: 2013-11-03 06:03 pm (UTC)LJ is really stingy with icon slots even for paid accounts. I was considering letting payment lapse and going back to a basic account myself, but then I wouldn't be able to use the cheerful theme I've used for the past few years. Of course, when they change everyone over to a generic friends feed (stupid name) I'll lose that anyway except if I'm reading my own journal... GAH! I hate the way LJ is changing. Thank goodness for dreamwidth, at least here I can keep things the way I like them.
