Orphan Black
May. 26th, 2013 03:50 amI started watching Orphan Black on a whim when it first premiered on BBC America. When I watched the pilot, I wasn't planning on getting into it, but I've become really enthralled with it.
I think I like the pace. The plot is moving along quickly, but not at a pace that I find jarring or disappointing (that was an issue I had with Vikings--it felt like there was barely any time to get to know the characters or for plots to develop before the game would suddenly change again).
I'm really impressed with the production values and acting. The clones all seem like distinct individuals, and I don't feel like I'm seeing the same actress each time. Even though the show doesn't have a ton of scenes with the clones together in the same room or shot, it doesn't feel contrived. And when they are together, it looks pretty natural to me.
I like most of the characters a lot. I'm loving the budding friendship between Alison and Felix.
I want to write up a reaction to the latest episode, because I have so many thoughts. But it's too late tonight. It'll have to wait.
