Has this been done? Is it feasible?
Feb. 18th, 2012 05:32 pmThe other day, I was looking at fic for classic literature on AO3 ('cause this is something I, uh, do sometimes) and found myself wishing there was more.
So I started thinking, what if I held a fic fest devoted to classic literature?
Has this...been done before? Has anyone tried it already? And if not, is it feasible? I don't imagine it would be the most active fest, but would there be enough interest for it to be relatively successful? Because I mean, I'm all on board for this, but I'll admit that writing fic for literature can, at best, be awkward and difficult at times.
And I don't even know how I would begin to promote such a thing. I know the Sherlock Holmes stories have a fandom, so there might be some interest there, but otherwise I don't know. I wouldn't want to do it without knowing there was interest.
Any thoughts?

Date: 2012-02-19 07:10 am (UTC)I gotta admit, I've really been taken by this idea. I wrote Wuthering Heights fic for Yuletide a couple years back, myself.
Do you think you might know of any ACD!Holmes comms or other comms where they might be interested in something like this?
