White Collar 4x07
Aug. 28th, 2012 10:19 pmReally, really enjoyed this episode!
- I don't trust Sam. Without Ellen, Neal needs to proceed carefully.
- It's nice to have a "real" name for Ellen.
- Mozzie speaks sense! Involving Peter is the smart thing to do, not only because of his connections but because he wants to help and has the necessary emotional distance to see things a little more objectively. At the same time, I see Neal and Peters' respective concerns. This whole thing about corruption in law enforcement and the FBI feels reminiscent of Fowler. And of course, Peter is gun shy about doing stuff off the books.
- I love how Peter brings up the u-boat. And Neal assures him there probably won't be a submarine this time. LOL.
- It's kind of cool to have a story about a case that's already been "solved", so to speak. We've never seen the trial process and the aftermath of an undercover operation, so it's a neat switch-up.
- Love Neal comparing testifying to a con. A two-man con.
- I think I need a fic explaining how Sara lost a heel in Ivanka Trump's air duct.
- I also need fic about the time Sara accidentally sexted Neal.
- It's cute how excited Neal is to play Steve Tabernacle again.
- I like Shepherd a lot. It's not every day someone gets the better of not only Neal, but Mozzie. Neal's having bad luck with blackmail this season.
- When Neal and Peter are trying to tell Sara and El their plan, it's so easy to imagine they're proposing a four-way. Or partner swapping.
- I love how when Peter tells her she can be there, she says assumes he means in the pictures with him and Sara.
- Okay, this has got to be one of my favorite things on the show, ever. Elizabeth directing Peter and Sara while they pretend to make out. While Neal stands outside taking pictures. I had no idea something could be both hilarious and hot at the same time like that. I think I kind of ship Peter/Elizabeth/Neal/Sara now.
- LOL at Mozzie having recorded diaries.
- Also, Mozzie's rubber baby is a little creepy looking. Funny, though.
- Love that Neal gets to take the stand.
- Wait, shouldn't the benzene go to a crime lab or something? And be recorded as evidence? Establishing that the dude's prints were on the bottle seems just as important as proving that it's benzene. That's the only thing that kind of bugged me, as impressive as Neal's display was.
- It's just like Neal to decide that testifying wasn't as exciting as he thought it'd be.
- This is the second time this season that someone has warned Peter not to cross the line when it comes to Neal. Why do I feel like they're foreshadowing something?
- So Peter knows Neal has made contact with Sam. This is going to lead to a confrontation sooner rather than later.
- Yay! Alex is back next week!

Date: 2012-08-29 09:47 pm (UTC)- I don't trust Sam and I keep thinking he's actually Neal's father. Mostly cause I think they have similar hair styles... lol
- I keep feeling there has been another turn around again this year. Mozzie and Peter being on the same side looking after Neal's best interests after Mozzie was actively trying to break them up last season. It's season 2 again. Because Neal has stopped really looking out for himself.
- I was glad we came into this story already in progress, because you're right we rarely get to see the after math of their cases and this would have just been text book to watch... however it must have been a weird day that Neal didn't reveal himself to the suspect during or after the arrest.
- Okay. Peter/El/Neal/Sara. I have no words... seriously I just watched those two scene and keep giggling. It was perfect though because El is the best TV wife ever. She takes everything in and decides it sounds like fun as long as she can be there.
- I like the four of them together much more then I ever liked Sara/Neal. But I'm glad their not forgetting that Sara and Peter friendly working relationship before Neal was around.
- Can I say I loved how that scene was set up, Elizabeth with the Champagne and Neal with the camera directing them was my favorite it was awkward, sexy and funny. I expect to find many fics starting where they left off.
- I watched it again just to be sure. Some time has passed between Peter coming in with the bottle and Neal testifying again. When the lawyer gives Neal the bottle, from an evidence bag, not the ziplock Shepard had it in. It wouldn't take long for prints and I guessing there is a deleted scene somewhere that has them the judge isn't going to wait for the toxicology report to come in and Neal has a "better idea".
- I wonder if it was a lesson in "taking the stand" subplot. Because I think Neal didn't like it for the same reason Peter does. It's about convincing the the truth instead of convincing a lie.
- I hate that kind of foreshadowing.
Sorry no reply last week but somehow i completely forgot. I felt strangely like there was something missing from the ep but I'm sure what.
Next week, it is nice that Alex will be around again.

Date: 2012-08-30 05:46 am (UTC)- I feel like I have to see this episode again soon, just for that scene. I don't have many words, either. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time. It was just a perfect set-up and execution. Peter and Sara being awkward. Neal eating and directing them while taking pictures. Elizabeth coaching Peter and telling Sara to whisper in his ear. Just...everything. There needs to be fic.
- I think at this point, Elizabeth enjoys helping Peter pretend to seduce people.
- Didn't notice the time passage with the bottle. That helps.
- Yeah, Neal doesn't do well with having to tell the truth, and it's not as glamorous to him as thinking of testifying as a con.
To be honest, I was kind of disconnected from last week's ep, even though I enjoyed the beginning and a few other parts. Didn't have a whole lot to say about it. This episode made up for that.
